Made in the 216

Sooooo....We know that Made in the 216 was a few weeks ago, but we feel we can still talk about it and give a recap....right?

Anyway it was an awesome event, we got to see a preview of it twice, to help set up(things were different each time...Danielle's Funny like that) and it looked awesome both times and also Friday Night, the Night we attended.

The event started at 4pm and we showed up around 7:30...and our new Tee The CLE Collage was sold out...and while we were there two others sold out! It was even cool to see 2 dudes sporting the "C.L.E. - Create,Love, Embrace" V-necks they just purchased, I guess they just needed to put it on!!

Needless to say we had a great showing and would like to thank all the Clevelander's who supported us as well as all the other local artists. I bought a tote from Small Screens and Jeff bought some jewelry.

Here are some shots of our Tees from the event, compliments of Kyle Roth and Room Service.

"CREATE"...a Sneak Peak

create
Throughout the first year of CLE we've enjoyed many successes and highlights. We had a huge weekend at the Bazaar Bizarre in December, which sparked our expansion and growth as a Brand. We were privileged to be interviewed by Cleveland Magazine, which sparked more growth, and we even got a shot-out from Leon Bibb and the Channel 5 News Team, which was both awesome and surreal.

We realize that our designs have been simple.....yet very unique and have caught the eye of many Clevelanders who are looking for something unique.. We have plans to expand our line to be more expressive, kitchy, and add some of our designer/artistic
flair (if you will). Basically we want to be more than "I (something) CLE" and over the next couple of months we will be releasing new designs each month that represent our little vintage/unique style that we hope our little niche market will enjoy.

We pride ourselves on using high quality American Made goods paired with our "unique" designs that are printed right here in North East Ohio.

Here's a look at This month's 3 designs that will premier at Room Service's Made in the 216 on Friday June 26 and at The Waterloo Fest on the 27th.

A Collage of Everything Cleveland....at least everything we could fit....

A little play on the acronym "CLE"....Create, Love, Embrace....Art, Music, Culture. A donation will be made from each purchase of this design to an artistic cause in the Cleveland area.

Oddmall Recap

Saturday, we spent the day in Hudson at Oddmall, "Emporium of the Weird", which was our second indie-craftshow we've been to. It was a good time, we met some new friends, hung out with some old ones. It was nice to sit across from Small Screen Designs again, which we sat next to at Bazaar Bizzare , and she also has her collection at Room Service with us....so we had a little Room Service Corner goin' on there. Check out the shirts we got from her....

She even had little Ohio Chocolates with a Heart in the spot of Cleveland, which we also purchased! Click on the image below to check our what she hhas to offer...

WIT_MVP__NESS GAME ONE - SEMI'S

1011

I got an awesome surprise yesterday....Tickets to Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals (exclamation point, exclamation point). Thanks to my wonderful GF. Even though I had a terrible head cold and cough, I wanted to go anyway to experience Cleveland's first ever NBA MVP Award Ceremony.

1007

The "Q" was packed and very loud....I got some goosebumps I hadn't had since, well the playoffs back in the day of the Coliseum, where my friend Jason and I would stand the whole game until some old man told Jason to sit down (what was that guy doing? It's the Playoffs!)

I was cool to see Lebron get his trophy before the game, it was so loud we couldn't hear David Stern's speech. Check out the swag we got at the game...

WIT_NESS_MVP

Can't wait for Game 2 and another domination.

After Happy Hour and Dinner at Prosperity (had the Fish Fry, I'm so Polish) we did a tour of the West Side punk bar scene, The Spitfire, Now That's Class, and the Matinee, where I picked up a 7oz Midget Miller High Life....it was weird.
Big Week this week, getting ready for a indie craft show, Cavs Playoff Games, and more to come later....

A Little Look Into the World of A Graphic/Web Designer...

Auto Tuning from Casey D on Vimeo.

25 Reasons You Might Be A Hardcore Graphic/Web Designer

(In no particular order)

1. You’ve almost rear-ended the car in front of you because you were analyzing a font on a billboard.

2. You get pissed when a free Photoshop brush you download is less than 1000px in size.

3. You’d rather study the paisley pattern on your boyfriend/girlfriend’s shirt than listen to what he/she has to say.

4. You can use keyboard shortcuts at light speed, blindfolded, but you can’t type a paragraph of text without staring at the keyboard.

5. You’ve had “Software Nightmares,” when you’ve been working way too much.

6. You consider meals interruptions.

7. You’ve learned your lesson and stopped using the word “final” in any file name when saving.

8. You clean your keyboard more often than you wash your car.

9. You’ve intentionally given up trying to explain your projects to non-designers.

10. You see CMYK and RGB like Neo sees the Matrix.

11. You’d rather organize your desktop than your sock drawer.

12. When you heard that Adobe was acquiring Macromedia, you had a Design Orgasm.

13. When you look at Album art all you see are grunge Photoshop Brushes. (Then you see the album art a couple minutes later)

14. You’ve Photoshopped out a watermark for a comp or mock-up.

15. You’ve actually $paid for a font.

16. You’ve totally slaughtered a great design concept because the client thinks he/she knows best. (everyone thinks they are a designer)

17. The amount of words you’ve written with a sharpie labeling burned discs total more than the amount of words you’ve read in novels.

18. You’ve had to explain to a client that a layered file wasn’t part of the deal.

19. You’ve kept a ragged concert ticket just so you could scan it.

20. You’ve nicknamed the OSX spinning wheel. (and not affectionately)

21. You bookmark a resource more often than you have a fun night out on the town.

22. You’ve intentionally overbid a project because you can sniff out a bad client from a mile away.

23. You can’t go to a restaurant without secretly critiquing the menu design.

24. You have an amazingly huge font collection, and an amazingly short temper.

25. If you had a penny for every mouse click, you would have been a trillionaire 3 years ago.
